Kevin Spratley

March 23, 1983 — March 15, 2025

Be the lion not the sheep. A true alpha male doesn’t ask for permission he creates the path for others to follow. Kevin was just that a trendsetter. Born to lead, not follow was his motto.

Kevin Soratley also known as Kev was born on March 15th, 1983 to Mamie Spratley and Gerard Davis at North Central Hospital in the Bronx. Kevin was the second born of nine children. He went to a vary of schools such as C.E.S. 90, C.J.H.S 145, and William H. Taft High School. He worked many jobs but his dedication to being a security professional was always at his core. Kevin did security work for a number years. He took pride in working and was respected by his coworkers. One thing for certain he was going to provide for his family by any means. Kev wasn’t just all about work, wherever at a family function you catch him on the dance floor being the life of the party. He was a foodie, his favorite was bake Mac & cheese. Kevin had a love for fashion. Always had on something that made you want to ask where can I get that from. Those were just a few of his many traits.

Kevin met Margaret Thomas in 1995 and their relationship produced his first born Kevin Spratley Jr. in 1997. Years late he met Melissa Ramirez in 2003. They spent several years together before welcoming their first child together Zion Spratley. Wanting to explore new opportunities Kevin and Melissa moved to Arizona in 2009. During that time they officiated their union in Vegas on March 17th, 2014 as husband and wife. That union later produced two more additions to their family, Zy’mire (Zac) Spratley and Zaiya Lee Spratley , his one and only daughter. After years of living in Arizona Kevin and his family relocated back to New York to be closer with family. Kev loved his children and he was adamant about being about of their lives. Creating memories were vital to him whether it was watching movies, going on outings, cracking jokes on one another, playing basketball with Zion, cooking with Zac or making TikTok videos Zaiya. Being a vital role for them was important to him.

On March 23rd, 2025 Kevin was called home surrounded by close family. Although he’s no longer here in the flesh his life and legacy will forever live on in all of us. He will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.

Kevin precedes in death his grandmothers Berniece C. Tyler and Lizzie Davis Bracey, three aunts and two uncles. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Melissa and his children Kevin Jr, Zion, Zac and Zaiya. His grandchildren Kevin the third and Evangelee. His siblings Nathan, Na’keia, Tamika, Charkeem, Deja, Deshawn, John, Nakwan, Branda, Hassan and Gerard Jr. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends who loved him dearly.

Kevin was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who was truly loved and will be deeply missed.
