Derrick Clifford Roach was born in Harlem NY to Clifford Roach
and the late Yvette (Bootsie) Campbell on August 30, 1960. To our dismay, Derrick was called home by our Lord and Savior on February 15, 2024. His body was discovered by his sister Larhonda Coco Campbell during a wellness check on February 17th.
Derrick resided at 245 Echo Place in the Bronx, one of the birth places of hip-hop music. He loved watchingmovies, especially Karate flicks. He would imitate Bruce Lee trying to master the art of nunchucks. His favorite movies were the Last Dragon and West Side Story. Derrick also loved drawing and playing basketball.
Growing up in a Hispanic neighborhood Derrick learned to speak and write Spanish fluently. Derrick studied at Roosevelt High School.
He was the jack of all trades and had many different talents. He was a painter, carpenter, some electrician jobs and he specialized in construction work. Later on in life, he became a master salesman.Soon after high school, he met his first love; Carmen Perez (Baby).
Derrick will be joining his mother; Yvette Bootsie Campbell, his aunt; Yvonne Baker (Nana), his sisters; Venus Renee Campbell and Lasuan Cee Cee Baker.
Derrick leaves behind his sister; Larhonda Coco Campbell, brother; George Beno Baker, daughters; Crystal Dieudevant, Diamylia Campbell, Elaine Perez and Kierra Velasquez, son-in-law; Welch Dieudevant, ten grandchildren; Evrick, Elaina, Ariella, Jade, Ariyah, Zane, Isis, Noel, Adrian and Aydin, nephew; Rhondell Williams, niece ni law; Latonya Williams; nephew Rael, cousin; Carol, a host of nieces and nephews; Rhondaysia Campbell Desuan, Akiam, Venus, Yvette, Shavette Quadream Shakima, Larhon, Sydney, Keisha, Ashley, Lavette, Jaquan, Tyrell, Jaheim, Diamond, Tyeisha, Tykeisha, Lavonne, Sahara, Terrell, Kandice, George Walker and Ahlani, sister-in-law; Sidnice, special cousin; Elizabeth Dunning, and a special friend; Mark Graham.
